Steel King Industries’ Stevens Point Facility Celebrates Employee Safety Milestone
Jun 01, 2012
For Immediate Release
Stevens Point, WI (May 2012) Steel King Industries, Inc., is pleased to announce its Stevens Point manufacturing facility has achieved a milestone in employee safety, specifically no lost time injuries (LTI) over a one year time period.
Employees at the Steel King manufacturing facility in Stevens Point, WI achieved the one year mark with no lost time injuries on May 9, 2012. Stevens Point manufacturing employees logged nearly 136,800 hours of work without a single lost time injury.
“Safety is very important to everybody connected to Steel King Industries”, according to Jay Anderson President. While eliminating the pain and cost of injuries is reason enough to be focused on the issue, everyone including our customers benefits from keeping our skilled and experienced workforce actively contributing to our quality and on-time product. We introduced the “big ticket” safety incentive a few years ago, to provide an extra level of motivation to make safety happen on a daily basis. We were thrilled when our New London, Wisconsin employees achieved their first safety milestone on October 26th of last year. Now our Stevens Point employees have shown that safety is “job one” at this location as well. These achievements show that safety is more than talk at Steel King, and a growing corporate culture embraced by our employees.”
Glenn Thiede, Vice President of Manufacturing added; “It is really a phenomenal safety accomplishment for our employees, especially in a metal fabrication environment such as ours. It’s a testament to our employees’ great safety habits and truly watching out for one another while performing their jobs. I’m proud of our employees and all the hard work that they did to accomplish this great safety record.”
In honor of the milestone, every qualifying Steel King manufacturing employee at the Stevens Point facility received a sweatshirt marking the occasion, and their names were entered into a drawing for their choice of a fishing boat with motor and trailer or a four wheel drive ATV. The prize drawing will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at around 3:00 pm.
