An example of this philosophy is the custom StacKing rack shown here, commonly referred to as a "pin rack" or "peg rack."

A relatively standard StacKing rack is customized with a double-level sheet metal deck. The sheet metal is perforated to accept drop-in "pins," which allows to user to contain parts on the rack, even if their shape varies.

This rack is ideal for handling steel stampings, blanks, or other flat goods.

Size:
Length, width, and usable height per user preferences. Unit shown is 40" x 40" x 12" (usable) height; 18.5" overall height.

Load capacity:
Standard Duty= 2,000# per rack
Heavy Duty= 4,000# per rack
Heavier capacities by request
Stacking height:
Six times the lesser of the base length or width, divided by the overall height of each rack. Unit shown is stackable 12 high. {(40 inches * 6) / 18.5 inches}
Pins:
Height (length), diameter, quantity per rack, and finish per requirement. Unit shown has 3/4" diameter rods, 12" usable length, 14" overall length. May be covered with foam, rubber, etc. at customer request.
Deck holes:
Diameter dependent upon pin diameter. Spacing and pattern per customer specifications. Unit shown= 11/16" diameter on 3" centers.
Available options:
Fork stirrups, floor runners, removable corner posts, etc.
