Steel King named Business of the Year

The New London Chamber of Commerce recently held their annual Chamber Awards Banquet, where Steel King Industries was selected the 2018 Business of the Year, from a field of 11 nominees.
Criteria for this award includes businesses who 1) Demonstrate an economic enhancement to the area through increased employment, new products/services or by increasing visitors to the area 2) Have distinguished themselves from competition through new technologies and/or social media 3) Have provided exceptional assistance to other businesses 4) Have pursued educational opportunities for the purpose of the advancement of professional knowledge for self or employees 5) Promote community involvement through volunteerism, financial support and/or donations and assisting with local generous causes 6) Provide a needed or desired product/service to the area, and 7) Offer outstanding customer service.
Steel King’s New London location recently completed a 1.5 year-long expansion, nearly doubling its manufacturing facility to increase production of its SK2000® steel frame and beam system, that is used heavily as the basis for traditional storage and multi-level order picking systems nationwide.
In response to the award, New London Plant Manager Jeff Stillman states, “I am very proud that Steel King Industries has been selected Business of the Year. This rewards the hard work and dedication of a talented team of employees. I would like to personally thank all of them for their contribution that led to this achievement”.
Other awards presented during the award ceremony included: Community Service Award, Chamber Service Award, Quality of Life Award, Excellence in Innovation Award, New Business of the Year Award and a Beautification Award.
